Dr Julian Cassar graduated from Monash University in 2016. He then worked at Austin and Northern hospitals before completing his Fellowship with the Royal Australian College of General Practice in 2022.
Julian enjoys working with patients to address both simple and complex issues through active listening and a non-judgmental approach. He aims to deliver evidence-based and whole-person care, recognizing that health flourishes when we can find meaning, connection and authenticity in our lives. He feels that his work has been enriched by the cultural diversity of the community he serves, and is most fulfilled when he sees real change in the lives of his patients.
His special interests include chronic disease medicine, refugee health, preventative health, planetary health and medical education. Outside of work, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, exercising and reading.
In order to provide quality care, Julian appreciates having a double appointment to spend with patients who would like to discuss their mental health or work through multiple medical problems.
